A long time ago outsourcing the more “trivial” tasks involved in business tasks skyrocketed within the IM community. It makes sense to do this because it gives you more free time to complete things. You’ll see that there are different ways to approach outsourcing and that normally, this is little more than a matter of personal viewpoint. The basic idea is to free yourself from having to deal with the little repeated tasks that you should not get bogged down performing. When you have another person do those things, you’ll be able to spend a lot more time on the more lucrative activities. There are a lot of things that you can do wrong when you decide to try outsourcing. So we will give you a few guidelines to improve your overall experience.
You will find the complete range of experience and individuality with outsourcees, or those to whom you outsource your work. You should try to screen, as much as possible, for those who’re able to work independently with minimal to no hand-holding. Obviously, if you have to spend lots of time helping or giving direction, then you may as well be doing the work.
When you find someone who is just so excellent in every way, then be willing to go the extra mile to keep that person on your payroll. We do the opposite with those who’re severe under-performers or problem freelancers. They are usually let go if the circumstance warrants it. So it only makes good business sense to even be ready to pay your top performers a little more than those who are more average.
Plan very well before you implement an extensive or complex project. Put everything on paper that may benefit by being on paper. That helps in order to keep everything very clear. Also, you want to have a crystal clear manual or blueprint for yourself. Keep the processes or tasks that need to be completed as simple and clear as possible. Then, create documents for your outsourcees so they will have the best guidance possible. Before you hire, train and let your laborers begin, make sure everybody understands what is needed and required by them.
If you have a large project with time lines and objectives, then put status updates into effect. It is important that everybody realizes what is expected. You could even schedule reminders for yourself utilizing your email client to remind you of important dates for milestones and expected updates from your workers. You probably want to avoid having your monitor blanketed with yellow stickies to serve as reminders. Make every effort to be as professional with yourself and other individuals as necessary.
Sometimes things can easily be summed up in simple terms. In that case, then just make sure you know what you need from those who are working for you. Make sure they realize what you want. You will find that at the start your communication skills may be tested, and those skills play an important role in the success of your team.
